Doug and Bronwyn Mayo believe that this site is a valuable educational experience and that the public, at no cost, should also have the opportunity to view the site as researchers and students uncover the history of the Wenas Valley. Site Tours - Pending future opportunities Central Washington University provided the public the opportunity to view the dig during the summer quarters when they were operating a field class from 2005-2010. In 2010 CWU decided to discontinue the field classes and close the dig. The Mayos are seeking other interested individuals, groups or educators who would like the preserve the history of the Wenas Mammoth and provide educational opportunities through field classes or opening an interpretive center. If you are interested, contact the Mayos. If your organization would like to know more about the Wenas Creek Mammoth and future opportunities, contact the Mayos today! |
